Your adventure opens in Arusha National Park, a small park with big variety. You’ll find diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife and views of Mount Meru. Colourful birdlife, like the lilac-breasted roller, adds to the scenery. It’s a gentle, beautiful start.

Karatu: a restful highland overnight

After a day of exploring, you settle into the scenic highland town of Karatu. Cool air, quiet surroundings and a comfortable bed prepare you for the highlight of the trip.

Ngorongoro Crater: the Big Five on one floor

Next, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. It is home to the Big Five and an abundance of other wildlife. Expect wide open views, plenty of animals and the kind of moments you’ll talk about for years.

Mto wa Mbu: culture, colour and community

You finish in Mto wa Mbu with immersive local experiences:

When to go

The best time to visit is June to October. This is the dry season, with excellent wildlife viewing and good road conditions. December to February also offers good wildlife activity and fewer crowds. March to May is the green season, with lush scenery and excellent birdwatching, though some roads can be challenging.
